Snake Gourd

Did you know?
-Growing snake gourds near cucumber plants helps protect them from cucumber beetles!
-Snake gourds are typically very long and slender (hence their name) though some varieties are shorter. The long varieties can grow up to 6 ft long!!
-Taste similar to a cucumber and are often used in Southeast Asia for making pickles and chutneys—also lend themselves well to curries
-Used in Ayurvedic medicine as a cooling vegetable.

TIP: Simply peel your snake gourd, chop it up and cook it much like you would zucchini.
