Last year we hosted 462 visitors during 15 tours of the farm! The farm is open to visitors during our public volunteer workdays and by reservation with private groups only. We are not able to accommodate walk-in visitors. Out of respect for the farmers busy schedules, the farm is not open to the public without a scheduled visit.
Public tours provide a general overview of our history, programming and agricultural practices at Transplanting Traditions. Tours generally last 45 minutes and are followed by a volunteer workday. The first public tour and workday for 2018 is Saturday, May 12 9am-1pm. Please contact [email protected] to sign up for May public workday and tour and to receive information about upcoming public tours and workdays.
A 90-minute guided tour will take guests throughout the farm and provide an in-depth explanation of the project. Private tours are best for groups with specific interests and questions. We can accommodate a group of any size. Cost per tour: $100.00. Two weeks advance notice required for private tours. Tours are available Monday- Friday. Contact [email protected] schedule a private tour. As a non-profit funding is one of the most challenging and time consuming parts of our work and all funding from tours goes directly back to sustain the project.
We always love sharing information about the project and teaching about all that we have learned running this unique project since 2010. However, we are very small staffed and request reimbursement for our staff time. As a non-profit funding is one of the most challenging and time consuming parts of our work and all funding for speaking events goes directly back to sustain the project. If you cannot find funds to pay staff to speak at your event we can try and work with you. Email [email protected] to discuss other payment options. If you are available to pay we ask for $150 an hour rate.
