Job opening: Executive Assistant
Start Date: Mid-July to early August 2020
The Mission of Transplanting Traditions Community Farm (TTCF) is to provide refugees access to land, healthy food and agricultural and entrepreneurial opportunities. TTCF works with refugees that left Burma as a result of war and have come to North Carolina to rebuild their lives. Transplanting Traditions is looking for a dependable and organized individual to help manage and support staff around the daily administrative operations.
Responsibilities:
- Help maintain accurate financial and fundraising records
- Managing and monitoring monthly expenses
- Entering expense classifications and codes for financial reports
- Bill payments and invoice preparation
- Email and phone communications
- Mail management and distribution
- Coordinate the recruiting, hiring and orienting of new employees, board members and volunteers
- Paperwork management and set-up for new staff members
- Monitoring and obtaining certifications and licenses needed by organization
- Documenting and organizing organization meetings and important conversations
- Coordinating employee and volunteer recruiting and hiring processes
- Entering program data into data management system
- Communication with donors and writing thank you notes
- Help staff with fundraising activities such as the preparation of grant proposals, events and mailings
- Support staff with the planning and preparation of meetings, including conferences, retreats and staff/board meetings
- Assist with the monitoring and compliance of organization policies and procedures
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficient command of English grammar and spelling
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft and google programs
- Organizational skills
- Previous administrative experience (clerical, finance, fundraising, HR) is great but not required
- Strong attention to detail
- High level of organizational skills required
- Previous experience in the nonprofit or equivalent sector is great but not required
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to foster a positive team environment
- Passion or interest in Transplanting Traditions Community Farm mission and/or refugee or immigrant issues
- Individuals that identify as a person of color are encouraged to apply
